An invitation to

Embodied Enquiry

IMG_0006_edited.jpg

I invite you ...

I invite you to engage intimately with your life exactly where, and how you are, now

Presence allows for a more refined, alive and nuanced sense of Being to emerge

I invite you to explore, with open curiosity, narratives, feelings and sensations

To notice familial and ancestral patterns and to heal trauma

I invite you to cultivate an inner guidance system through more allowing and less trying

Revealing the authenticity of who you are

This path of enquiry and deep body listening lifts filters of defences and human conditioning

So as to rest in a place of Wild Wonder

Julia Mary

About me

My greatest teacher has been the unfolding undulation of life itself, as well as guidance, training and witnessing from many. A key component of the way I choose to live is awareness of whatever is alive in a given moment, and honouring the underworld as much as the light. My integral approach blends traditional depth psychology with somatic listening, mindfulness, eco-awareness and ancestral systemic constellations.

My approach

My approach is process orientated, remembering that we don’t ‘get’ healed or ‘fixed’ but change the relationship with ourselves by resting into trust from the inside out. Cognitive consciousness and insight can be valuable as a first step, and embodied consciousness turns towards, changing the texture of trauma and pain. I’m not a bodywork practitioner per se, but may use subtle touch techniques and movement based explorations. I also offer systemic constellations and nature immersions.

Feeling

“Our feelings are the most genuine paths to knowing.”

- Audre Lorde

If we cease avoiding, judging or fighting pain, its presence serves rather than hinders. Feelings, when felt in fullness, give us the freedom to be with the truth of our reality. We don’t necessarily need to understand feelings — like food they are digested not justified.

Breath

“As each breath goes out let it be the end of that moment and the birth of something new.”

- Pema Chodron

Breathing is influenced by our thoughts, and our thoughts and physiology can be influenced by breath. Breathing with awareness helps to restore balance in the mind and body. Expansive breath unveils and releases limiting thoughts and beliefs, deepening intimacy with self.

Movement

“Life is a continuous movement. Acceptance means to keep in rhythm with this movement.”

- Osho

Movement as meditation shifts habitual patterns and allows for the dropping of the mind to embrace the moment. Spontaneous and intuitive movement brings awareness to the way you move, think and feel.
